I already drive for Uber/Lyft. Can I use the same documents?

If you’re already on the road in Saskatchewan, you likely have most of what you need! Here is the breakdown by city:

  • Vehicle Inspection & Driver Abstract: Yes! As long as your inspection was completed at an SGI-certified station within the last 12 months and your abstract is recent (within 90 days), you can upload the same documents to Spinr.

  • Criminal Record Check (VSC):

    • In Saskatoon: Yes. If you have a valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) issued by the Saskatoon Police within the last 90 days, you can upload it directly.

    • In Regina: No. City of Regina bylaws require a specific Certificate of Approval issued by the Regina Police Service (RPS) that lists the specific company you are driving for. Even if you have one for Uber, you must request a new one for "Spinr Mobility Inc".

Pro-Tip: In Regina, you can usually request a 'Multi-Company' check or add a new company to your record via the RPS online portal for a smaller administrative fee than a full new check.
