Your earnings are calculated based on several factors for each ride.

How earnings are calculated

For each ride, you earn:

Your safety is our priority

At Spinr, we're committed to keeping both riders and drivers safe.

For Riders

  • Verify your ride: Always confirm the driver's name, photo, and license plate before getting in
  • Share your trip: Use the "Share ride status" feature to let friends and family track your trip
  • Sit in the back: For added safety, we recommend sitting in the back seat
  • Wear your seatbelt: Always buckle up for every ride

For Drivers

  • Follow traffic laws: Always obey speed limits and traffic signals
  • Keep your vehicle clean: A clean car provides a better experience
  • Stay alert: Never drive while fatigued or under the influence
  • Be respectful: Treat every rider with courtesy and respect

In case of emergency

Use the in-app emergency button to quickly contact local authorities. Your location will be shared automatically.

Quick answers

Where is my personal information stored?

Our primary database is hosted in Canada.

Some of the services we rely on — payment processing and notifications, for example — operate outside Canada, principally in the United States. That means some of your information may be processed there and could be reachable by US authorities under US law. PIPEDA allows this provided the information gets comparable protection, which is the standard we hold those providers to.

Our full Privacy Policy sets out who we share information with and why.

Is the Spinr app usable with a screen reader or larger text?

We build the rider and driver apps to work with the accessibility tools your phone already provides — screen readers, larger text and higher-contrast display settings — and we treat a barrier in the app as a bug rather than a limitation you have to work around.

If something is unusable or hard to use for you, tell support what you were trying to do and which assistive tool you use. That gets it to the people who can fix it, and reports like these are how the gaps actually get found.

For wheelchair-accessible vehicles and service animals, see the accessibility question about booking a ride.

Is there a minimum age to have a Spinr account?

Yes. You must be at least the age of majority in Saskatchewan to create an account, and the account has to belong to you. Spinr is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

If a young person is travelling, the trip should be booked and taken with the adult whose account it is — they are responsible for the ride they book.

How do I make a complaint if I am not happy with the outcome?

Start with support — most things are settled fastest there, and we can see the trip in question. If it concerns your safety, say so and it goes to our safety team rather than the general queue.

If you have a privacy concern we have not resolved to your satisfaction, you can take it further: the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada handles complaints about how Canadian companies manage personal information, and you can contact them directly and independently of us.

Can I bring a child, and do you provide car seats?

Children are welcome when travelling with the adult whose account booked the ride, but Spinr does not offer a car-seat option — none of our vehicle categories comes with one, and drivers are not asked to carry them.

Saskatchewan law requires young children to be secured in an appropriate child restraint. Providing it and installing it correctly is the responsibility of the adult travelling with the child, so please plan for that before you book.

Open this answer
Am I insured while I am riding?

Yes. Every Spinr driver has to carry a ride-share endorsement on their own insurance before they can go online, and we check that document at sign-up and again every time they go online — an expired one stops them driving.

From the moment a driver is assigned to your trip until the trip ends, the ride is covered by commercial ride-share insurance rather than the driver's personal auto policy. That covers the whole time you are in the car.

If you have been in an incident and need the specifics of a claim, contact support and we will put you in touch with the right details for your trip.

How long do you keep my trip data?

Trip records are kept for seven years. Saskatchewan transportation rules and tax law require it, so a deletion request cannot shorten that window — it is the one thing we cannot erase on request. After seven years the records are deleted outright.

Some things go sooner. The GPS points for your pickup and dropoff are removed at three years. In-app messages between you and your driver, and drivers' location history, are cleared after 90 days.

If you ask us to delete your account, your profile details — name, email, profile photo and saved addresses — are scrubbed within 30 days, separately from the trip records above.

I uploaded my documents — were they received?

Your uploaded documents show in the app with a status of pending review, approved, or rejected. Check your documents section in the app to see each one's status. If something is missing or was rejected, upload a clear, valid copy again. Documents can take a moment to sync after uploading.

Open this answer
When and how do I get paid for my trips?

Drivers keep 100% of the fare. Open the Earnings section in the app to see your completed trips and what you earned on each. For bank-deposit timing or a payout you believe is missing, check your payout settings in the app or contact support and we'll look into it.
